I have been accepted for admission to Angel Academy of Art beginning in January of 2017. I will be studying traditional drawing and painting using tradition studio methods. I will be gone from home 30 weeks a year from up to 3 years—depending on my progress.
This will be my second time to study in Italy. The first was in 1965. I was a student for a summer program through the University of Rome. We studied sculpture, art, archaeology, city planning and, of course, the Italian language.
I am grateful to my wife Lea who is fully supporting this new adventure. I am excited and a bit apprehensive. I suspect, at 68 years old, I may be one of the older people in the class. This will be fun. I will continue this blog but from a different perspective.
Congrats — have fun!!

Congratulations, and thanks for the inspiration. I understand the apprehension, too. Hope to intersect with you one continent or another.
Complimenti Signore Jeff. That school will be lucky to have you. We’ll be thinking about you and Lea during this adventure.
